Miss Singapore is my fave cause I’m a sucker for a crescent moon worked into any outfit (although, I’m wondering how scary it was to walk around with that much wire attached to your back), but I will confess the USA’s feathers are TO DIE FOR. I didn’t even know this was a part of the pageants. All these years, wasted.
Disclaimer: I still do not support beauty pageants and wish they would GO AWAY.
This is fun if you’re looking to kill a few minutes on the internet (which you know you are).
So, what’s your favorite dragon story? Mine? Definitely the Dragonriders of Pern series. They were my first exploration into dragons and fantasy literature and will always hold a special place in 12 year-old heart (a much more loyal and true heart than my current 26 year-old one). And Anne McCaffrey is just so generous to give readers book after book after book. (No seriously, depending on how you’re counting the series contains about 22-24 books- some written and co-written with her son Todd McCaffrey.) This is one series I’d love to see made into a TV show so I could complain to all my friends how the books are way better and brag I know what’s going to happen before the next episode airs.
Check out Alternating Current’s Reader, Editor, & Publisher Picks for Best Books of the Year in which I gush about how much I loved Roxanne Gay’s “Bad Feminist.”
Great list with lots of suggestions to add to your never-ending “must read” list.
